Assessing Teaching and Learning at Lighthouse

Ten qualified primary teachers attended a  workshop last week run by Lighthouse Educational Society, Area Manager Peter Acmurade.  The purpose of the course was to help teachers to achieve higher levels of learning amongst their pupils through the application of a series of simple yet effective teaching strategies.

The workshop that was predominantly practical, focused on ideas for warm ups and energisers, key ingredients for a good Enlgish and Maths lesson, a brief introduction to National Curriculum and how to deliver through a multiskills approach.

Feedback from teachers included:

‘Very useful ideas for grouping pupils, delivering a good lesson and differentiating activities.’

‘Eleven Plus sessions – Excellent! Thank you. Really useful information. Great!’

‘Really helped me to see how to structure a Supplementary lesson.’

‘Great! Very applicable skills and useful tips.’
